PostgreSQL DBA , Karachi

Job Description:
- PostgreSQL DBA experience
- Solid database concepts.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- PostgreSQL performance tuning.
- PostgreSQL  Replication  and High Availability setup and maintenance (such as Slony, pgpool, etc.)
- Backup/Restore.
- Query optimization.
- Good communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
- 1 to 3 years experience as a DBA or equivalent.

Nice to have
- PostgreSQL’s PL/pgSQL development  experience.
- Oracle PL/SQL experience
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Data model design and recommendations.
- Maintenance of database.
- Proactively monitor the database for performance bottlenecks
- Respond to queries and issues reported by the users/developers.
- Optimize database for performance.
- Develop methods for monitoring database capacity and usage.
- Establish and maintain backup process.
- Automate weekly refresh of the staging database from production.
- Maintain the high availability and Load balancing setup.
